Hey everyone! Just a quick thought and I'm sure most of us face this issue but how do you land a job without the “required“ experience? Some entry-level roles are asking for 3 years of experience, senior roles are asking for 5 years of experience and then to get into management you see 7-10 years of experience. How can an individual overcome this barrier that they may face at some point in their career?

I like to view job requirements and experience thresholds as wish lists! While you may not have the required experience in terms of years, you may have other skills that can compensate for that. Also, if you're a proven leader in your field with a proven track record of success then you have a strong case!
I think one of the keys is to leverage non traditional experiences. While most people going for entry level positions don’t have the “typical” required experience some may have experiences that can be looked at as equivalent. Many companies are becoming open to these types of experiences because they realize the value of a diverse workplace.
