Greetings, my name is Tobi Soyebo and I am a third-year law student at South Carolina School of Law. I am looking to re-enter the job market this fall and I was wondering if you have any tips on preparing yourself for a job market with so much uncertainty due to COVID-19. Prior to this pandemic, I was expecting to search for a position within a company in their legal department or find a clerkship that will expose me to different areas of the law but I was wondering if there are any strategies I should be implementing in the meantime to increase my competitiveness as a candidate?

In order to stand out in this COVID-19 job market you will need to be aggressive on social media, that means getting in contact with hiring managers and other stakeholders. My favorite place to go is LinkedIn. You have millions of professionals and companies at your fingertips. Try to connect with them to learn more about them and their role. In addition to that, tap into your current network of professors, friends, and family. These are the people that know you best and can speak to your skills and accomplishments.
Navigating the job market under these circumstances will definitely not be easy. Remember tough times don’t last, tough people do. Stay dedicated and continue to move past hurdles that stand in your way. Full post here: https://www.thehiringhub.co/post/job-hunting-during-the-coronavirus-as-a-recent-grad
